Very good Bahn Mi. This place is totally unassuming and frankly a little random from a street view perspective but do not let that deter you. Living around the corner I’ve been curious about it for a while and after finally talking to someone who has been decided to order some food and am thrilled I did. The bread and veggies were incredibly fresh and the lemon grass pork was well seasoned and prepared. The bread was soft and were balanced with the fresh crunch of the veggies. My only real feedback is that it did eat a bit dry and could’ve maybe used a little more slaw, acid or sauce to further balance the ratio of bread, but the bread’s quality was such that it’s merely a suggestion as everything tasted great , plain and simple. What further drives this home is the price point because it is an incredibly generous sandwich for 7.95 so honestly throw any critique out because it provides an incredible bang for your buck, and today more than ever, that really means something. I will be back soon and am excited to work my way through the rest of the menu!

I love these Banh Mis because it’s light enough to feel like you can go for a light jog after but heavy enough that you are fully satisfied. Some say CoCo holds the best Banh Mis this side of the Mississippi. All are confused as to how such a simple mix of ingredients can bring such extraordinary results. All the ingredients are so environmentally friendly and fresh and you can taste it! So much so that when you eat their banh mi’s a piece of the ozone layer actually heals itself. I think bar none quality to price ratio Co Co may be the best in Chicago. They only do takeout or delivery since the pandemic, just do not think about ordering on Tuesday as that is the only day they are closed. If I’m in Lincoln Square or even passing by, heck within driving’s distance and feel a twinge of hunger you can bet I’m stopping by here and you should to, just not on Tuesdays.

This is hands down my favorite sandwich in Chicago. I used to live near Coco but now I will still drive 20 minutes to pick some up because it’s amazing. I normally get the tofu ban mi and tofu spring rolls. Most of the time, even get two ban mi sandwiches : one for now, one for later. Their noodles are also great and the people who own it are always incredibly sweet and nice. I drop a tip even if I’m just carrying out because they’re so nice and the food is amazing. I love this place!
